Ich habe es beführchtet als ich die ersten Bilder sah, aber es hätte ja auch nur ein Prototyp sein können. Ich möchte die Apfel-Taste wiederhaben. Ich hätte mir um ein Haar das schöne Bluetooth-Keybord zugelegt, aber nicht ohne Apfeltaste. Hoffentlich nimmt das kein böses Ende, erst gibt man uns Macs auf denen man Windows installieren kann, dann nimmt man uns die Apfel-Taste und was kommt dann, nimmt man uns auch noch das MacOS? So langsam kommt es mir vor als ob Apple nur noch eine Fassade ist, und irgendwann steht ein Steven Jobs auf der Bühne und nimmt die Maske ab und zum vorschein kommt Bill Gates.
bin noch nicht lange mac user hab mich aber sofort infizieren lassen. mac ist einfach besser, und die apfel taste gehört einfach dazu. ich glaube mahler sagte “tradition ist die bewahrung des feuers, und nicht die anbetung der asche.” in diesem sinne lasst uns die apfel taste erhalten

Perhaps getting rid of the apple key is Apple’s way of pandering to the non-mac folk they’re so desperate to convert. Perhaps it’s an oversight. Perhaps it’s just another little marketing ploy to generate this type of buzz; after all, any press is better than no press.
All that aside, I’d really miss that little apple key. There’s something about it that just feels good.

I don’t have a clue what the command key is and always refer to the -key.
The logo is one of the most recognized Brand Identifiers in the world. It is a instrument that helped building the Apple brand to what it is today!

Please don’t lose the apple-key. I’ve been apple-q and apple-s and apple-c and x and v and w and h, etc… for so long and this is a uniquely mac thing. I know Apple wants to gain market share and win over windows converts, but they shouldn’t do it at the cost of losing something that is uniquely apple-like.

What a pitty to leave out the key. It’s nice to add ‘command’ for newbies but why toss the just because of that?
Also, the glossy display seems nice for DVD watchers but when using the iMac for work, during the day it is much less ergonomic than a matte screen. Let alone the colour distortions… At least a matte screen should have been an option.
Finally, I hope Apple finds a way to make the remote stick to the iMac again.

just switched recently to the mac platform, and the apple key has been an easy way to remember keyboard shortcuts. apple + … is way easier to remember than, command + .. and it also sounds so much better!

Je souhaiterais vivement que la petite pomme revienne sur les nouveaux clavier. En français, on dit facilement “Pomme C”, c’est plus simple, plus poétique et plus rapide que “command-C”, qui fait trop informatique d’ailleurs.

By the years, the key comes in daily used langage on the Mac. (At least here in France) Everybody said “Pomme-C”, “Pomme-V” (mean “Apple-C”, “Apple-V”) for copy and paste, and other keyboard shortcut (some singer even used “-Z” or “-C” in their song lyrics or album title). I never ear somebody said “command-V” instead.
Please bring the back!! Like Apple computer, it’s part of my life for more than 20 years now.

If we were Win users, we wouldn’t think of the symbol that is on our Keyboard.
But we AREN’T Win users! Lot of People don’t know what is meant when they hear things like “Shift”, “crtl”/”control”, “alt”/”alternate”/”option”, “command”/”cmd” etc.
It’s MUCH easier to say “Press the Apple-Key”.

Ich liebe mein MacBook und dazu ghört auch die -Taste!
Jeder PC hat eine Windoof-Taste – warum jetzt nicht mehr der iMac die -Taste?

Just go on and read your Mac’s user manual. This key has never ever been referenced to as the “Apple key”. It’s called a “Command key”. In fact, it’s just a legacy symbol that was used for the Apple II, which had the apple+letter keyboard shortcuts in the menus.
See what Steve Jobs had to say about the use of apples in the menus when the first Mac was being created:

Wasn’t it the philosophy to make things easy and recognisable? Hey, “cmd” is just as good as a “good” old DOS command – what a step forward…! A “keybored” without the key is no Apple keyboard. So why should I buy one? Because it is fancy? No way – sorry, AAPL !

Every time I train a new client on how to use their mac, I always tell them: “Look for the apple logo on the keyboard” (usually they won’t know what a command is). Now that I take a look at the new Keyboard, all I can say is either look for the command or look for the clover /AKA: the “Microsoft Office logo”. I rather not say that. The clover looks like the MS office logo but I would not like to relate office with the keyboard. The problem with telling the clients to look for the “command” key is that they will start looking for it at the top right and scan all the way down to the left and then keep going until the bottom and once there, they probably will miss it because the whole letter scanning has caused an optical illusion on the brain letting the user think that there is no command key. However, If you say “look for the apple logo” they will think “fruits” not clovers, not MS office, not “COMMAND”. they will instandly look for an “apple”. Having the apple logo there makes it easier on the users and instructors. Plus for all the old timers who have used Apple, it is a symbol of pride almost and joy. to take away the Apple is almost iconoclastic in nature.

Seriously? Really? You can’t believe how many emails I’ve received about this. Grown men and women. Mostly men. Writing me long emails explaining why this tiny symbol on a computer key is such an integral part of their life and vital to their sense of well-being. Jesus Christ on a popsicle stick. You know what? Go buy a Dell. What’s that? Yeah, I didn’t think so. So shut up.
You’re totally missing the point. The Windows key is labelled that way because it sends commands to the operating system as opposed to the frontmost application. The Command key doesn’t – it sends commands to the application, so having an Apple on it is confusing.
Removing the misleading symbol and actually printing the name on the key is a step forward for usability, and if that runs all over your sense of tradition – too bad.
the key is a tactile and personal part of every mac… please return it!

Hey guys, I was sooooo confused ! I was reading in the internet how to do a Screenshot on my new Mac and every document I found referred to an APPLE key that ISN’T THERE! I was actually excited to find the APPLE key but my excitement was lost when it was missing. Furthermore, I was distraught because I STILL AS OF THIS READING don’t know what to do. I came across this Site and, being an Apple Fan (I even worked as a consultant for Apple for 1 year) I must say it is alarming that they are not only giving in to INTEL but they are losing their FACE (the Apple???). All I can give is ONE BIG SAD FACE to this decision, and hope that Apple continues with setting trends, and not giving in to the rest of the confused world.
why don’t we ask a chinese-based company to create -key replacement so we can sell 1/5 pieces boxes online?? I would buy 1 key – 3$
